If he was in a pet carrier/tote bag.. Maybe with a flap open so he can see.. Could you take him into a store like Target or Walmart? Or is it illegal?
Geez, I was just asking! You people don’t need to get so defensive. And I don’t “shove” my dog into anything! If he doesn’t like the bag, then I wont put him in one.. I see people all the time with dogs in human stores, so I wasn’t sure if it was ok. And besides, I took my pom to the mall the day we had him put to sleep. He loved seeing people, so I thought on his last day he should get out and see people! And NO ONE said anything to me about having him in the mall!

NO. Dogs are not allowed in those stores.

Most stores do not allow pets and have sings on the front door saying so. Small dog owners have to obey the rules, just like large dog owners.

Nope – you will promptly be escorted out.

they will ask you to leave. no dogs allowed, unless they are guide dogs. boo.

No one will really say anything unless you take the dog around the food in a super walmart or something. Iv seen people do it before.

if there is food in the store then it is not allowed. You can call the individual store to ask but because they carry food, then no.

    HEL* NO!!!

I don’t treat DOGS like DIRTY KLEENEX to be jammed inna STUPID PURSE!!!
    MORONS & 8yo’s do that!

No – you would be asked FIRMLY to leave. A dog is a dog, no matter the size. People can still have allergies to the ones you can fit in a purse.

BTW, did you know that a majority of the little purse dogs develop aggression problems? Those purses are hot and uncomfortable. They restrict movement. If a dog gets scared or frustrated the only way to deal with it is to bite.

PS – I seriously hope you aren’t getting (or have) a little dog JUST to carry it around in a purse. Dogs are living beings, not accessories!

Most stores in the U.S., except for pet stores, do not permit dogs.
Stores like Target or Walmart cannot permit them by law because they sell groceries and allowing dogs would violate the health laws.

I’ve seen a woman in K Mart with two dogs in the buggy, it’s up to the store people. You really shouldn’t take dogs where there is people food but if they don’t say anything to you then go. All they can do is ask you to leave.I raised a couple of wallaby’s once and had them in diaper bags and took them every where but they kept their heads in the bags.

No, no dogs aloud in Walmart or Target period. They sell food in those stores which is unsanitary and some people may be allergic to animals.

Yes, in a pet carrier you can bring your dog into any store. I’ve brought mine into everything, from supermarkets to malls to department stores..

As long as the dog doesn’t come in contact with the merchandise, they don’t care.

Its not a good idea to do so.

The only dogs that are legally allowed public access are properly trained and behaved service dogs, who aid their handicapped handlers. Pets in public venues tend to cause distractions, and have even attacked working service dogs, and there are serious civil and legal penalties that can be assessed against the owner of an animal who takes their pet in a “no pets” designated area, and their pet then attacks or interferes with a service animal.

Risking arrest, a fine, jail time, or confiscation of ones pet is pushing things a bit too far, just so a person can take their precious little “Snookums” with them to a place where it doesn’t belong.

    Not a good idea.

Add: You can give me all the “thumbs down” you want to. It still doesnt change the truth, and the truth is: Unless it is a service dog, it isnt allowed in public venues. Period.
